This is a foundation we constructed for Cargill Grains in Kansas City Kansas. The transformer needed to be above the highest conceivable flood stage so the project consisted of excavating for the footing three feet below grade and pouring a three foot thick reinforced concrete footing. We then poured reinforce concrete walls eight feet high around the perimiter. We then filled the structure with aggregate and flowable fill. Finally we poured a one foot thick reinforced and finished slab on top of the walls to support the massive transformer.
